With every new take I would do, I found myself really embodying whatever the mood of the song was, and in turn felt like each take would get increasingly better for this reason. I wasn't satisfied with my initial recordings where my attitude was simply to complete the recording process; instead, my best work was captured after I'd tried it so many times that I really had to think about what the songs were trying to say, and how I was going to say that.
The EP
This is the EP I created as my fieldwork. It was originally intended to be something that I would share out and conduct research regarding people's takes on homemade vs. professional production, but instead has ended up as a reference for the emotional process of being a musician in the studio.
